Consumer Co Operatives

The National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India Ltd. (NCCF), headquartered in New Delhi, is a national-level consumer cooperative society with operations spanning the entire country. Registered in October 1965, NCCF operates under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. As of 31st March 2023, NCCF has 152 members, including the Government of India and three national-level cooperative organizations: National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), and National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

 

Share Capital & Branch Network

As of 31st March 2024, NCCF’s total paid-up share capital stood at ₹15.02 Crore, of which the Government of India contributed ₹9.49 Crore (63.18%). NCCF operates through its Head Office in New Delhi and has 27 branches located across various regions of India.

 

Financial Performance

In the financial year 2023-24, NCCF achieved a sales turnover of ₹5968.96 Crore, a significant increase from ₹2811.39 Crore in 2022-23. The bulk of these sales came from the supply of grocery and general merchandise, as well as textiles, agri-inputs, and civil construction. NCCF also undertakes projects related to Government of India schemes such as the Price Support Scheme and the Price Stabilization Scheme.

NCCF's groceries business is segmented into:

-Institutional supplies against open or limited tenders.

-Institutional supply as a nominated agency.

-Procurement and disposal of stocks from mandis and other authorized sources.

-Present Commercial Activities

 

NCCF engages in a variety of commercial activities, including:

-Procurement and supply of agri-inputs.

-Import and export of consumer goods.

-Trading of non-agricultural products like coal, fertilizers, and pesticides.

-Supply of stationery and office use articles to government departments.

-Distribution of wheat, atta, pulses, etc., under various government schemes.

-Import of pulses for distribution at subsidized rates through State Governments/UTs and PDS.

-Infrastructure development, including the construction of hospitals and housing projects.

-Procurement of agricultural commodities, such as pulses, oilseeds, and paddy.

-Supply of daily-use items like tea, salt, toilet soaps, sugar, foodgrains, and sanitary items through the Public Distribution System (PDS) in states like West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh.

-Supply of imported coal to power generation units and other utilities.

-NCCF has been designated as the Canalizing Agency by the Government of India for the export of onions.
